Birth registration is mandatory for all children.
Deadline for filing:
Births must be declared within 2 months from the date of birth.
Births not declared within this period may be entered in the register only upon presentation of a supplementary birth certificate issued by the court of first instance of the place of birth.
Procedure:
The birth is declared by the father or, if the father has not done so, by a doctor, midwife or other birth attendant.
The declaration of birth is made at the Consulate General of Burkina Faso in Gabon.
The birth certificate is produced immediately by the civil status officer at the Consulate General.
Documents to be provided
1- A certificate issued by a doctor or midwife, i.e. a birth certificate;
2- A family record book to register the child if both parents already have one.
3- Cost: three thousand (3000) CFA francs.
4- Form to be filled out by both parents.
